Today, Meritech has officially announced the start of sale of monoZero 1YS IoT development board that is dedicated for NB-IoT and Non-IP Data Delivery (NIDD) systems.
ince its definition by 3GPP, Non-IP Data Delivery (NIDD) has been gaining attention, especially in Japan market. NIDD allows users to send data between IoT device and platform without using an IP address thereby directly contributing to reduced data costs and increased data security against malicious attacks. By integrating with technologies such as eDRX and PSM, NIDD devices can have reduced power usage with extended battery life. Overall, with its large coverage area, NIDD technology is a major challenger for low power low data technologies such as Sigfox, LoRA, etc.
monoZero 1YS hosts muRata 1YS-SB modem which is locked latch only with SoftBank network. Similar to all monoZero lineup, monoZero 1YS contains STM32L4 as the host MCU with 3 x UART, 3 x I2C, 3 x SPI, 1 x CAN, 23 x GPIO peripherals for sensor communication. This development board can be swiftly configured using monoZ SDK thereby drastically reducing the user’s time to market.
SoftBank has featured monoZero 1YS among SoftBank network compatible devices along with monoZero 1WG which was featured in the list earlier this year.
